can't believe howww clumsy i was today. woke up late, 11.30am even though i wanted to wake up at 7am. sleep is one of those things you'd really want but not really at the same time. it's those extra non essential activities - nobody's ever died because they didn't have 12hrs of sleep everyday. it's like having zillions of dollars in the bank: good, but not necessary (for most).
also dropped my mom's pairs of oakleys somewhere. this is like one of the most super blur drastic mistakes i've ever did, after bringing my ipod for a dip.
then realised that i didn't bring my wallet. i mean, what on earth is wrong with me, right? sheesh so ended up borrowing $15 from my dad and another $10 from my pc (fare card had negative value).
sheesh
sometimes i feel like screaming at ani difranco in the face: shaddap lah! she can play the guitar, good. but she plays these irritating songs that just make you feel like stabbing her repeatedly.
still have yet to fill in my ucas application for universities in the uk, even though i know that i won't get a place in any of them. it's just to show that i've tried, get it? some people need the proof.
also have to reply to becky (the once a year american penpal). but it's starting to feel like a realll chore, plus it's not even a year yet.

a (superficial) national survey
10 August 2005
after extensive browsing and numerous tests and whatever, i have come to a conclusion.
singaporean girls (the younger ones, or at least those who look below 30) consist of approximately 90% ah lians. all hardcore fans of bands like machi, f.i.r. and other taiwanese and chinese celebrities are ah lians. also, 20% of these fans are probably crazy (mentally unstable) too.
also, singaporeans really love freebies. they not only want one or two or three, but as many as possible just because it's free!?! and the lies some of them would go to get their way!
anyway, here's some tips if you want to get in to your next 'festival of praise' or whatever free event coming your way:
1. "my stuff was inside just now i just went out to bring my mom to the toilet!"
2. "my kids are lost inside help me in NOW"
3. (if you're a kid but obviously went there with friends) "i only went to the toilet but my mommy's inside!! *cry*"
4. just chiong past and ignore security while they try to chase you down in futility. and at the same time let in everyone else who's waiting behind you.
5. "can i stand behind you? this place is so dirty *doe eyes* i won't go in i'll just stand behind you cuz it's soooo dirty!!" *then sneak in while no one's looking*
gah. just some of the nonsense people try to tell me while doing security (i'm more of a traffic cone/sign post than a security guard). it's unbelievable, and the most incredible part about all this: i can't do anything about it but let them in, being the nice kind considerate guy i am. one day i'll be mean and just say 'SIAM LAH KNNBCCB@#$@$^$&*(!!!"

marshalling people around for the national day week
7 August 2005
now, i know why the ushers at the indoor stadium's festival of praise were so exasperated all the time.
i was standing there at the seating stands, which is really a disgustingly crap piece of wood and dunno what for sitting down. some people mistake seats for steps, and steps for seats. the field which was apparently supposed to be covered with a tarpauline sheet was removed so now allllllll the mud in the field is soaking up people's socks, shoes and ankles! gross. i'm just guessing how many letters to the straits times' forum will be arriving in the week to come.
also, whoever drives a tank over a tarpauline sheet anyway and expects it to be scratch-free? ridiculous that the organisers even thought of using one to cover the field! some of them probably envisioned this grand picnic in the park ala fort canning green, but a mudbath would be a better and more apt title. YUCKS.
ushering people initially was quite easy (and maybe one could call it remotely fun!). i'm being a useful person in the community for once after all. but once you start seeing people come in through the gates right in front of you by the thousands, you tend to start going crazy. i mean, really crazy!
some people are really lazy, all of them have brochures for the events in the area at marina south but most don't give a damn to read it. and some are deaf, like those who i tell to sit on the right multiple times but keep going left! there are also the stupid, idiotic, annoying and incredibly stubborn folks that would rather die than to give up their seats. they're territorial creatues: lions and tigers mark their territory with the shit and piss, but these just-pure-pain-in-the-butt breed mark it with their belongings, be it a bag, water bottle, EMPTY watter bottle, tissue paper and what have you. i mean, KNNBCCB LAH!
probably the only good that came out of today was the drumming game at the arcade! you know, it's like ddr (dance dance revolution) and guitar freaks but with a drumset instead! of course, definitely way different from real drums but still! i was damn excited when i actually finished playing through all 4 songs (you get to play a maximum of 4 songs for each play, unless you screw up one of the earlier songs). until i realised that it was also a really fast way to burn your money into thin air. so sad, had to quit :S
just really damn irritated today. also some guy wanted to teach me how to use a SAR21. come on lah i think more like i can teach you every thing about it! perhaps what about a gpmg? did you know that it's 11.2kg and can shoot up to 3700m and that 250 rounds of belt ammo is 9kg and that you can really fire on and on for an insane time like a minute plus nonstop and instead of bursting into flames or a billion pieces, it'll still work? but the catch is that you must use non-SAF machine guns only, otherwise the very last point would prove false. ok whatever.
also just finished washing my clothes (hand wash! a tshirt and levis jeans, even though i have a maid!), so maybe that explains my irritability. then i realised that i dumped my clothes into the washing machine instead of the dryer later. cuz this is dumb i have TWO washing machines at home. house chores for guys! woooooooooooosh, but no way!
just so tired lah need to sleep.

I'm actually quite sick and tired of this current template, especially since it wasn't designed by me. I ripped one of blogger's default templates and edited it (although by quite a lot! haha) so that it'd be more readable for my eyes, but that's about it. And I was gonna do a medieval themed one, but the block type fonts don't work on my computer! You know how in middle ages manuscripts they have an ornamental drop capital letter leading each paragraph or chapter? Yes those don't work... knnbccb and neither do most of the other fonts i downloaded (maybe all I have to do is restart the computer. but i'm too lazy to do any of it).
So now all I feel like doing is tumbling back on to my queen bed and stoning the night away, chilling out (stoning) to music playlists which repeat every 15 minutes and pretending that responsibility or anything remotely close to that has no relation to me.
P.S. I just realised that my drop caps look screwed up in Internet Explorer, but I use Firefox so I don't care. It's supposed to look like this.
